HDRI Lighting for Realistic Rendering

HDRI Lighting for Realistic Rendering

Well i have some tutorial about how to get realistic rendering using HDRI, but in this case this will be the only lighting source, this is the more simple way to lighting a scene without lighting complication but getting a really great realistic feeling in your scene, i have to say that i love to render with HDRI and for that reason i want to share my workflow when using just HDRI lighting. But i want to show to some details of the models, using poly modeling i create all the models and for detailing the sofa and the eames lounge chair i used zbrush.

First we need to find the perfect HDRI for our scene, i was thinking in a sunset mood for this scene and i am using like always a HDRI from OPENFOOTAGE and this is the one that i used:

I used this HDRI with a Vray Dome light and this is the setup for the lighting:

Check the settings for the vray physical camera, this is a really important step because the camera control how the lighting will affect the scene:

And that’s all for the lighting now i want to share with you the rendering setup, for this one i used Brute Force and Light Cache for having a more accurate lighting calculation, this is the render setup:

The post-production was like always, some contrast, color correction, vignette and a little bit of chromatic aberration and some glow in the windows, i hope you like it this tutorial and check more images from this scene .
This is the more easy way to achieve realistic rendering without breaking your head with lighting, just try to find a good hdri and you will have a nice rendering .
